The Orange City Council approved a resolution of support for a new Senior Affordable Housing Complex at Tuesday’s meeting.
Orange Trails, a 63 unit, two story development, would be built and owned by Trinity Housing Development. They’ve built other locations around Texas. It is being proposed on a piece of property that is off 27th Street in Orange which is behind Waffle House and near the hotels north of IH10 (yellow dot).
The units would be one and two bedroom. The one bedroom would average between $440-880 per month and the two bedroom would range between $530-1050. The actual cost would depend on the income level of the potential resident, according to Alice Woods with Trinity.
Council approved the resolution needed for the company to apply for housing tax credits. If they are awarded those credits, development would start in 2026.
