The City Council in Pinehurst met in a special teleconference Friday afternoon to accept the resignation of City Administrator Robbie Hood. The resignation comes after Hood accepted the May 14 offer from the City Council of Vidor to be their new city manager.
The Pinehurst City Council appointed an interim city administrator during the meeting. Mayor Dan Mohon said the interim will be Jerry Hood the brother of the outgoing city administrator.
Jerry Hood has twenty years of military experience and has been working as an assistant director with the Orange County Drainage District. His annual salary will be $58,000 as the interim city administrator.
The council decided not to seek a consulting firm for finding a permanent replacement. “We will not post the position in the next week at least and we will follow all the rules about posting,” Mohon stated.
Mohon indicated the two Hoods will work together for the next three weeks to help Jerry Hood learn the details of the position. Robbie Hood’s final day with Pinehurst will be June 15.
