Mustangs Ring Up Bellville

After a tough first half that featured three turnovers, the WOS Mustangs showed their championship form in the second half as they blew away Bellville 42-3 in the 4A D2 State Quarterfinals Friday night at Texan Drive Stadium. The "Chain Gang" defense kept WOS in the game in the first half while the Mustangs offense worked out the kinks, holding Bellville to just 46 yards of offense as the Mustangs lead 8-3. Edith Lorraine Morgan Webb

Edith Lorraine Morgan Webb, 86, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on December 3, 2015, in Vidor, Texas. Born in Indian Bayou, Louisiana, on August 8, 1929, she was the daughter of Jesse Milton Morgan and Attie Glennie (Hoffpauir) Morgan. Edith graduated from Stark High School and went on to work for Roy Wingate in his law firm before getting a job in the Orange County Clerk’s office where she worked for five or more different county clerks for over 23 years. County Health Inspections

Dead bugs, mice feces and mold led to demerits at food service businesses, but clutter led to Orange County Health Inspector James Scales threatening to suspend a permit at a convenience store. During the last part of November, Scales inspected 23 food service places with 11, 10 of them schools, getting perfect scores. The lowest score was a 78 and went to Tequila's Mexican Restaurant on Texas Avenue in Bridge City. However, Scales criticized the Cypress Plaza store at 1610 W. Park Avenue for the amount of clutter. Arrest Made for Aggravated Robbery

Orange police have arrested a 23-year-old on a warrant for aggravated robbery in connection with the hold-up of the Shell convenience store on Edgar Brown Jr. Drive on November 14. Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said Keyontay Young has been charged in connection with being the driver of the get-away car for the man who used a rifle to rob the store at 1:14 in the morning. He said Young was out on bond for two charges of aggravated robbery earlier in the year. Those charges came in connection with individuals being robbed at a convenience store on Strickland.   Funeral services for Jimmy Clyde Melton, 71, of Silsbee will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Melton passed away December 2, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
