Frances LeMaster, 1914-2016. Orange residents were saddened to hear of the death of Frances LeMaster, 101, who died at her home in Rancho Mirage, California on January 8, 2016. Fran LeMaster moved to Orange in 1946 when her husband Richard, a DuPont engineer, came to Orange when DuPont Sabine River Works opened. Mrs. LeMaster and Richard Spent 50 years in Orange, and she moved to Rancho Mirage, California in 1997 after Richard’s death to be with her son, Terry, who lives and works there. A Bridge City man went to jail for possession of methamphetamine early on the morning of his 30th birthday Sunday. A man riding in the car with him was arrested for evading arrest after he ran away when police stopped their car on 16th Street in Orange. Officer Nicholas Medina reported he saw Hyundai with a defective headlight traveling northbound on 16th Street at 12:42 a.m. Sunday. Three Bears Medal At Show
Eight Little Cypress-Mauriceville art students of Betsy Kaufman submitted paintings for the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Art Contest this past weekend. Of the submissions, three seniors received medals for their work. Sundas Imtiaz took best of show for her painting, “Boot Scootin’.” Brooke Tant and Veronica Ibarra both won Gold Medals.
