Early voting locations for the March primary were approved by the Commissioners Court Tuesday. That caused Assistant County Attorney Doug Manning who is a Concealed Handgun License instructor to remind license holders the rules concerning handguns in polling locations have not changed. BCISD Names Supt. Finalist
Just before midnight Wednesday, the Bridge City School Board named Todd Lintzen their lone finalist for the position of Superintendent. Lintzen is currently the Superintendent at Blue Ridge ISD in Blue Ridge, Texas, a 2A school located just north of Dallas. According to the schools website Lintzen has been Superintendent at Blue Ridge ISD since 2008. His educational career spans over 28 years. Science Hero Passes Away Wednesday
Orange's science hero, Michael Hoke, died after a medical emergency Wednesday afternoon at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Hoke, 68, was a longtime science teacher in the West Orange-Cove school district and retired to become the first executive director of the Stark Foundation's Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. He pushed to get Shangri La to ecologically green and it became the one of the first to earn the Platinum LEEDS certification.
