President Barack Obama gave his final state of the Union address to Congress Tuesday night. Congressman Dr. Brian Babin representing southeast Texas was not in agreement with much of what the president had to say. On KOGT’s Morning Show Wednesday, Congressman Babin told Gary Stelly he believes President Obama omitted a very important point in his address. Babin pointed out at the time of the president’s speech 10 American sailors were being held in Iran and the status of those U.S. service men should have been at the very top of his list in the state of the Union. Babin reported that the 10 sailors were released by the Iranians early on Wednesday.
Babin’s biggest concern is national security and the president’s failure to address the war on terrorism. The congressman mentioned that President Obama seems hesitant to even call the enemy terrorists. Babin expressed doubts on the president’s action in releasing more terrorists from Guantanamo and now is opening America’s doors to the enemy by bringing thousands of Syrian refugees into the country. Dr. Babin commented that the Federal Bureau of Investigation even admits it could not adequately screen all of the refugees to make sure that none of them are terrorists posing as refugees.
