Mold was plaguing some Orange County food businesses and leading to demerits from Orange County Health Inspector James Scales. Scales went to 21 food-related businesses in the last part of April and gave only four perfect scores, including one to Lucy's Cafe on MLK Drive in Pinehurst. The Star Stop on Highway 12 in Mauriceville tied for the lowest score with the Waffle House on Highway 62 in Orange. Both had an 84. Shot Man Is Wanted Man
The man who was shot outside in the Sabine River Park apartment complex early Friday morning is wanted by Houma, Louisiana, police on several charges, including attempted first degree murder. Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Lorenzo Barrow was shot several times about 2:30 a.m. Friday at the complex formerly known as The Oaks, 111 Pine Avenue. Barrow is in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A 59-year-old resident of the complex was shot in the arm while he was asleep on his couch by a stray bullet during the shooting. Vidor Man Arrested
Vidor police took Aaron Kyle Angelo into custody Friday afternoon for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle according to Vidor Chief of Police Dave Shows. The vehicle taken was a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck that was missing from the scene of a double murder last June in Vidor. Richard Glen Ames, age 84, and Edna Clary Phillips, age 85, were brutally killed in a home at 360 Timberlane on June 11. The truck was later recovered in Houston after it was involved in a one vehicle accident. DNA evidence was collected from the vehicle by the crime lab in Houston. 4-Car Pile Up Friday
A four-car pile-up on Interstate 10 eastbound near the state border Friday injured six people and sent four to hospitals in ambulances. One of the injured was driving a work truck and was hurt when a long metal pole went through the back windshield and hit him in the left side of the neck, according to a report by Orange Police Officer M.T.
