Walking Track Begun In Pinehurst
The much anticipated walking track in Pinehurst is becoming a reality. John Toney the supervisor of Streets and Parks in Pinehurst had a crew working at West Park Friday morning. Toney said they were scrapping off the surface of grass in preparation of laying a mat that will then be covered in dirt for the track. The oval track is to be roughly a fifth of a mile when completed and will mostly be in the shade of trees of the park. Toney hopes everyone will come and take advantage of the track at West Park in Pinehurst when it is completed. The Ed Peveto Memorial Crawfish Boil fundraiser will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 @ the Jewel Cormier Park off of 1442 in Orangefield, starting at 1:00pm. There will be a silent, Cajun and highest bidder auction. Crawfish, corn, potatoes and links will be provided. NO drinks are provided, so please bring your own. Louise Eastin Kent, 102, of Orange, passed away on May 12, 2016. She was born on August 11, 1913, in Orange, to Mary Young Eastin and James Rubin Eastin, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Louise Kent was a homemaker who cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Methodist Church, and an alumna of Stark High School.
