On June 29 and 30, Mauriceville Elementary was honored to present "PBIS - It's What's For Dinner" as a Showcase Campus at the Texas Behavior Support Conference. This is the statewide conference held at Education Service Center (ESC) Region 4 in Houston. Court Restores Pay
The Commissioners Court Tuesday did a reversal of its action from two weeks ago by reclassifying the District Attorney’s Criminal Investigator to an E-3 on the pay matrix. Commissioner David Dubose who missed the meeting on June 28 when the first vote was taken requested the Court reconsider its reclassification of the Criminal Investigator’s position. The reclassification was to go into effect at the beginning of the new fiscal year on October 1 and would have meant a reduction in pay of just under $10,000. Accident Sends Two To Hospital
Two people were sent to hospital after a three-vehicle collision at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on Strickland Drive at Edgar Brown Jr. Drive. Orange police report 52-year-old Barbara Crow, who was driving a pickup truck, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. 38-year-old Christopher Wright, who was driving a Ford Mustang, was taken by Acadian Ambulance to Baptist Hospital in Orange. Officer J.L. Goins reported Wright's Mustang was stopped at the traffic light facing south at the intersection. Crow's pickup was stopped behind the Mustang. BCPD Arrest Two For Possession
On Tuesday, July 12, 2016, officers of the Bridge City Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at 2375 Granger Drive in Bridge City. They located approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine and 0.275 ounces of marijuana. Arrested were Lisa Lynn St. Martin, 39, and forty year old Robert William Wells. Both were placed in the Orange County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st degree felony) and Possession of Marijuana. Council Meets Tuesday Morning
Sometime in the next few weeks, a 120-foot pole with two microwave dishes will be erected in the parking lot of the Orange Police Department. The installation is part of a region-wide 9-1-1 system sponsored by the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. Orange City Council Tuesday morning approved the project. The city is designating a 30-foot-by-30-foot area in the parking lot for the pole. A second trailer with an ATV was reported stolen in Orange Friday. Police went to the 2400 block of Hird Street, a block west of 16th Street, about 1:18 p.m. when the theft was reported. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said a 6-foot-by-12-foot trailer holding a 1999 Green Honda Trax 450 was stolen. The license plate on the trailer is 730778H. Orange County Texas A&M University Mothers Club awarded over $5000 this year in scholarship money for incoming Class of 2020 Aggies.
