The Orangefield Girls' Track and Field team competed in the Vidor Relays on Thursday March 2nd. They worked hard all night and came away with several medals. Field Events: In Pole Vault Brooklyn Goldsmith placed 1st, Mackenzie Davis placed 2nd, and Ivy Forman finished 4th. Lady Bears Lift At Regionals
Bear Iron Ladies competed in the Regional Powerlifting Meet on March 2, at Edna High School. Ceideah Walker placed 6th in the 105 weight class with a total of 335 pounds, Alexia Williams placed 8th with a total of 520 pounds and Alexis Trichell placed 9th with a total of 500 pounds in the 132 weight class, Sarah Bates placed 7th in the 181 class with 520 pounds total, and Breanna Dyson medaled with 4th in the 259+ class with a total of 665 lbs. Kennidee is a Senior at Deweyville High School where she is the vice president of the student council and treasurer of the National Honor Society. On March 2nd, 2017 Dr. Suess would have celebrated his one hundred thirteenth birthday. St. Mary Catholic School celebrated with “green eggs and ham” for lunch. Gray Found Not Guilty
A jury took six minutes today to acquit 44-year-old Grady Gray, who had been charged with indecency with a child. He faced five to 20 years in prison if he had been convicted. Gray, who is a former Pinehurst fire chief, was indicted on the felony charge last year. During court testimony on Tuesday, the teenage girl who was his former stepdaughter testified she sometimes slept in Gray's bed after he and her mother separated.
