Heather Lorene Poole, 43, of Buna, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2017, in Orange, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Heather was born on December 29, 1973. She was a past president of the PTA and was very active in the school as well as being active in and volunteering with Little League Baseball and Buna Youth Football. ESD 4 Meeting To Discuss Options
The Orange County Emergency Services District 4 is having two tax options for voters in May and will have an informational meeting Saturday. Spence Fuss, president of the district's board of directors, said the two propositions are to implement a sales tax and increase the amount of property taxes. Woman Confesses To Bank Robbery
The Vidor woman that robbed the Whitney Bank in Lake Charles on March 18, has confessed to the robbery of the Capital One Bank on 16th Street in Orange back on May 20, 2016. Eva Renee Powell remains in the Calcasieu Parish Jail. The 50 year old was spotted by a man after leaving the Lake Charles bank, acting suspicious. He followed her until police arrived. Building In Pinehurst To Be Demolished
The structure at 2500 MacArthur Drive will be coming down. The Pinehurst City Council met Tuesday and after a public hearing on the dilapidated condition of the building it was found to be a nuisance and a dangerous structure. The council ordered it to be demolished within 45 days. The structure most recently was the Video Paradise store. Before that it served as the location of the Orange Supply hardware store.
