The Orange Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night. Officers were dispatched at 11:15 PM on Wednesday to the Get N Go at 2419 16th Street.
The store’s clerk told police that two males entered the store and one of them had a handgun. They demanded money, the clerk complied, and was not injured.
An unknown amount of currency and several packs of cigarettes were taken. The suspects were described as two black males one was wearing a black hoody, blue pants, with a gray camouflaged back pack, and the other was also wearing a black hoody, jeans, with a pink back pack.

The Orange Police made two arrests on Thursday for separate possessions of drugs. Officer Stephen Ward conducted a traffic stop at 2310 Interstate 10 on Thursday at 2:30 PM that led to the first arrest.
During the stop the officer saw drugs and a syringe in plain view. A further search of the vehicle found an amount of heroin.
The driver of the vehicle Gamber Linus Friberg of Orange was arrested. Friberg was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance a 2nd Degree Felony.

Thursday at 11:00 PM, Officer Daniel Dorman attempted to pull a blue colored Chevrolet pickup truck over for having a defective brake light at 8th Street and Cordrey Street. The vehicle did not stop until the driver attempted to exit the vehicle in the 2300 block of 8th Street.
Dorman observed the driver holding a glass pipe in his hand and found a bag containing methamphetamine in a pack of cigarettes in the vehicle. Kerry John Lirette of Orange was arrested for possession of 2 grams of the Controlled Substance a Third Degree Felony.

The clerk at the Smokers Express foiled an attempted robbery on Wednesday. Police were dispatched to the store at 3:23 PM in reference to an attempted robbery.
The store’s clerk informed police he noticed a man taking a bottle of Crown Royal bourbon from the store without paying for it. The clerk grabbed a hammer and went after the perpetrator.
Outside the clerk was able get the bottle back from the suspect. The employee’s arm was injured while preventing the robbery when the suspect shut a car door on the clerk’s arm.

The police are investigating the theft of a television. Wednesday morning at 10:08 AM, Officer Jason Guidroz spoke with a female in the 800 block of Third Street.
The complainant told the officer that she had gone to work and returned home to find her television set was missing. She suspects a known person took the TV valued at $300.

On Tuesday at 3:08 PM, Officer Tim Pruitt was dispatched to the 3400 block of Allie Payne Road in reference to a theft. There the officer met with Daniel Buffington with AT&T.
Buffington advised Pruitt that AT&T was in the process of transferring a line of cable onto new poles along Allie Payne. Buffington reported he discovered 960 feet of telephone cable missing. Valued at seven dollars a foot the total value was put at $6,510 for the missing cable.
