A group of seventh-grade Texas History students at Orangefield Junior High received a special lesson in American and Texas history Friday.
Richard Teague, a former U.S. Marine who served from 2000 to 2004 and currently serves as a captain with the Bridge City Police Department, visited the campus to teach students proper flag etiquette.
Students learned how to correctly raise, lower, fold and store both the American and Texas flags.
Teague also gave the students a brief history lesson, explaining the symbolism behind the colors of the flags and how their designs have changed over the past 250 years.
