Matthew Clippa was born September 26, 1954, and passed away May 10, 2026, at the age of 71.
Matthew was a man whose joy for life could be heard in every song he sang and seen in every moment he shared with those he loved. He had a deep love for music and was especially known for sounding just like Elvis Presley whenever he sang. Whether performing karaoke, leading the choir at church, or singing among family and friends, he brought smiles and laughter everywhere he went.
His faith was an important part of his life. He loved attending church, worshipping through music, and serving as choir leader, where his passion and spirit inspired those around him. He cherished fellowship, friendship, and the opportunity to praise alongside his church family.
He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing whenever he could. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family. Holidays and family traditions meant the world to him, especially Halloween, when he delighted in dressing up and going trick-or-treating together as a family.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Rodriguez and wife Julia; grandchildren, Trey Allen Craft and wife Emily, K’Leah Marie Peveto and husband Casey, Seth James Simmons, Jeren Daniel Clippa and wife Crystal and Brooke Clippa; great grandchildren, Drake Craft, Blaine Craft, Brynn Craft, Olivia Craft, Kensley Peveto, Raelynn Peveto, Kamdyn Schmidt, Alyssa Clippa, Jeremy Clippa, Ada Lange, and Colt Lange; sisters, Debra Spillers and Brenda Maxfield; and daughter-in-law, Misty Clippa.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Daniel Clippa (Tick); parents, Lionel and Helen Clippa; sisters, Linda Williams and Belinda Sharp; and niece, Elizabeth Sonnier.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Bro. John Fortenberry will be officiating.
