
Gardener’s Guide Series – March 5 at 10 a.m.
Familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of gardening basics on the first Thursday of March, April, May and June. This free, informative program begins at 10 a.m. and will last approximately one hour. In March, join us for Orchids 101. Participants will learn the tips and tricks behind growing and reblooming orchids at home. *No reservations required.

Saturday Adventure Series – March 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 10-11 a.m.
Join us on select Saturdays through May for free family-friendly educational programs designed for children ages 4-12 and their families. With a wide range of topics, there is something for everyone! *Registration is required and opens 2 weeks prior to each program.

Toddler Tales
March 10, 17, 24 & 31 from 10-11 a.m. – Join us select Tuesdays in March, April and May for a magical experience! This free program is designed for children ages 1-3 and their grown-ups. Bring your little adventurer for a delightful storybook reading followed by self-guided activities that can be enjoyed at your own pace in the beautiful Garden space until 11 a.m. *No reservations required.

Adult Workshop Series: The Dish on Succulents – March 14 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
Become familiar with low maintenance favorites! We will share tips and tricks on propagating and growing succulents. Then, get hands-on with your very own succulent dish garden arrangement to take home. Supplies and materials are included with the $35 workshop fee. *Registration is required and opens Feb. 27.

Bird Watching Wednesdays – March 18 & 25 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Want to learn about the birds that call Shangri La Gardens home? Join us to see the wonderful variety of resident and migratory birds the Gardens offer with Interpretative Programs Educator, Michaela Layman, and Wildlife Educator/Animal Curator, Robert Morgan. This free program is for adults of all skill levels and features an easy activity level, some uneven terrain, and a 1-1.5 mile hike. *Registration is required and opens 2 weeks prior to each program.

Up Close with Nature: Live Animal Programs – March 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Join us on the last Saturday of each month (March-October) for Up Close with Nature! Our Wildlife Educator/Animal Curator, Robert Morgan, features one or more live animals that call Shangri La Gardens home. During these exciting and informative programs, you will meet local critters, learn about their adaptations, what they eat and what might eat them. This is a free, family friendly, come and go style program. *No reservations required.

Breakfast on the Bayou – March 31 (Registration opens March 10)
Programs are conducted from 7-9 a.m. The boat departs at 7:30 a.m.
These early morning, family friendly birding tours are offered to showcase the rich and diverse habitat that Shangri La Gardens provides to both resident and migratory birds. We will navigate Adams Bayou on a slow-paced adventure en route to our Beaver Pond outdoor classroom. On each date, there will be a bagged grab-and-go breakfast catered by a local food vendor. Children must be 4 years of age or older to attend. *Registration is required ($12 breakfast fee per person).
