Manuel C. Gallegos, Jr. passed away in Beaumont, Texas on January 10th, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on February 8th, 1957. Manuel was loved very much by his family, and he will be missed beyond measure.
He was proceeded in death by his loving parents, Manual C. Gallegos, Sr and Mary Falcon Gallegos.
Manuel grew up in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1975. He then entered the workforce and became very knowledgeable in the trade he chose as an electrician. Manuel excelled within his career in his positions within the Newtron Group. He became an active member of IBEW. He then continued mastering his trade in his position with Dupont Sabine River Works, where he ultimately retired from Invista in Orange, Texas.
Manuel loved sports and his passion for this began in his early years while playing Little League baseball and Pop Warner Football. Some of his favorite teams to watch and cheer for were the Dallas Cowboy, A&M Aggies, Houston Astros, and the Houston Rockets. You could also find him watching Nascar and rooting for Jeff Gordon. He had a great passion for 70’s rock music and enjoyed listening to his favorite bands until his final days. Manuel loved to read and to watch the History channel. He was a very neat and meticulous man that liked everything a certain way. He enjoyed helping others and his loss will be felt by many.
Likely one of Manuel’s greatest traits was his love for children. This was very much portrayed in his part of helping raise his and Donna’s great niece and nephew, Slade Romero and Raylin Kley. He and Raylin had a very special bond. He loved to spoil her and make sure she knew that she was loved and treasured by him. This relationship was a great testimony to the good and kind man he was. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
Manuel is survived by his loving and loyal wife of more than twenty years, Donna Stuckey Gallegos ; his stepchildren, Mindi Nichols and husband Charlie, Elena Fondren and husband Jory, Andrew Broussard and wife Danni; special relationships with great niece and nephew, Slade Romero and Raylin Kley; grandchildren Justin Bradley and wife Abigail, Marlee Bradley and fiancé Harley Petrocelli, Jaelyn Luna and husband Landon, Ashur Fondren and wife Emma, Peyton Fondren, Skylar Fondren, Serenity, Destiny, and Sammy Sheard; great grandchildren Ivie Bradley, Demi Bradley, and Harmony Goodwin; Siblings Cecilia (Cissy) Sandoval and husband Tommy, Theresa Harbert and husband Carl, Susie Reyes and husband Jose; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members that will treasure his memory.
There will be a visitation and celebration of life at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home on Friday, January, 17th, 2025. The viewing and visitation will be from 2- 4 p.m. Celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. In lieu of Manuel’s love for sports, we ask that everyone feel free to wear your favorite sport team’s shirt.
