Tuesday morning authorities were alerted of a body found in Adams Bayou near the Park Avenue Bridge. The body was retrieved and identified as 41 year old Damon Martin, who was reported missing last week by his family.
Orange Police shutdown traffic on Park Ave. at the bridge and brought in a marine rescue team from Orange Fire and OCESD3. Martin was located on the north side of Park, between the bridge and Tia Juanita’s Restaurant. It’s also near one of the Shangri La nature trails no longer open to the public.
Martin’s father posted that Damon was last seen on Christmas Eve night.
Justice of the Peace Judge Hershel Stagner has ordered an autopsy to be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
