The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on state Highway 62 at North Ridge Drive, that occurred Friday, December 19, 2025. That’s approximately two miles north of the Hwy. 12 intersection.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:20 a.m., a Honda Accord was traveling south and struck a horse that entered the roadway.
The driver, identified as 52-year-old John Lloyd of Kirbyville, was pronounced deceased on scene.
