
Loren Douglas “Doug” Worthy, 80, of Orange, Texas, was born November 7, 1944. He passed away May 3, 2025, at home surrounded by love. Doug grew up on a rice farm in Alvin, Texas, with a loving and hardworking family. He married his high school sweetheart, Joy, who literally was the joy of his life! He was employed by and retired from DuPont SRW plant in Orange, Texas. Doug loved motorcycles, and his favorite thing to do was ride with his two sons, Daren and Justin, who share the same passion. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Reading was also one of his favorite pastimes. Although he enjoyed many activities, his favorite role was being “Paw Paw” to his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Joyce “Joy” (Moore) Worthy; sons, Daren Worthy and wife Nikki, Justin Worthy and wife Kelsey; grandchildren, Lawson, Tilly, and Kale; sister, Evelyn Skinner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Melba (Gresset) Worthy; son, Noel Chris; sister, Deborah Talent.
Doug will always be remembered by his strength, integrity and his loyalty and devotion to his family and loved ones. We couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be missed every day.
His memorial service will be on Sunday, May 18th, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. The service will be held at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas 77581.
