
Linda Mae Brown passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange.
Linda was born on August 29, 1945, in Orange, Texas, to Charlie Edgar Brown and Frances Mae Clark Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Charlotte Rae and husband J.T. Brumley; and her nephew, Edgar Lee Brumley.
She attended Little Cypress High School, where she proudly embraced her identity as a Battlin’ Bear. She went on to play college basketball at Lamar State College of Technology, where she earned her degree in education, combining her love of athletics with a calling to serve others.
She devoted her professional career to education, serving as a high school counselor for 30+ years. She eventually returned to Little Cypress–Mauriceville High School until her retirement. Linda was known for her calm presence, patience, and genuine care for the students and families she served, leaving a lasting impact on generations.
A devoted Baptist, Linda was a faithful member of North Orange Baptist Church, where her love for her church family and her faith was evident. She also volunteered, quietly giving her time and heart to help others in her community.
Linda enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind and gentle soul who found joy in meaningful connections and simple moments, and she will be remembered for her warmth, patience, and steady presence.
She is survived by her nephew, Travis Brumley; her nieces, Ashley Bera and Dena Brumley; and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Zoe, Dax, Tye, Wes, Alexis, Axel, and Avian.
Linda Mae Brown leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
