Kurt Ebner, age 33, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away Monday August 12, 2019. Services to honor Kurt’s life will be held Friday, August 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church Deweyville, located at 644 State Highway 272, Deweyville, TX 77614. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm and formal services will follow at 6:00 pm. Kurt’s ashes will be spread in the Sabine River, which he loved, during a family only gathering later.
Kurt was born in Orange, Texas on September 7,1985 to Tabor and Michelle Ebner. He attended school in Deweyville where he played all sports and graduated in 2004. He proudly served as a United States Marine in California, North Carolina, and Okinawa, Japan. Even though he never faced battle, he served honorably, was an expert marksman and stood at the ready to defend his country at all times. He made many loyal friends in school and the Marines who will truly miss his ready smile and sparkling blue eyes.
He was preceded in death by his granddad, Calvin Ebner, who was proud to see Kurt graduate as a Marine.
Those left to cherish his memory are his Mom and Dad, his two beautiful daughters, Chloe Alexis (13) and Harper Grace (7), brother Jace Michael and his children Ayden, Peyton and Ava who Kurt loved dearly, Chris Buentello (who we called our third son), Grandmother Ginny Ebner, Grandmother Diana Miller, Grandfather John Miller and wife Inge, cousins Caleb and Justin Ebner, A.J. and Joe Villareal, Gabriel and Tyler Ebner, Ray McFarlin and Sam Sullivan, Jacob, Jessica, Katy and Blake Miller. He’s also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, extended family members and many, many friends local and across the country.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made at Dorman Funeral Home located at 8808 Old Hwy 87, Orange, Texas 409-746-2161. A charitable donation is going to be made in Kurt’s name to an organization of the family’s choosing.
