
Jackie Deland Harrison was born on June 1, 1950, in Haleyville, Alabama, and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at the age of 75 in Orangefield, Texas.
Jackie was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Through years of dedication and determination, he built a career with Boilermakers Union 587, from which he later retired. His strong work ethic and commitment to his family were evident in everything he did.
Above all else, Jackie was a devoted and loving family man. He treasured time spent with those he loved, especially during cookouts surrounded by family and friends, where everyone was always welcome. Jackie had a passion for woodworking, fishing, trail rides, and refurbishing old saddles in his saddle shop. He truly loved all things cowboy.
Jackie’s smile was a beam of sunshine, and his quick wit kept everyone around him laughing. He was known for his “Jackie-isms,” including one of his favorites: “I’m in pretty good shape for the shape I’m in.” His lighthearted spirit, kindness, and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Jackie loved deeply, and his love for his family and friends ran strong and true.
Jackie will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his generous heart, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Landra Harrison; his sister, Barbara Cooper and husband Kenneth; his brother, Bobby Harrison and wife Rochelle; and his stepbrother, Robert Smith and wife Betsy. He is also survived by his son, Lanny Harrison and wife Gina; his daughter, Katie Burns and husband Don; grandchildren, Lanna Harrison, Jacob Harrison, and Lauren Burns; step-grandchildren, Brant Burns, Dustin Burns, Carly Burns, Emilee Collins, and Britni Linscomb; great-grandchildren, Leila Rose Broussard, Lyla Kait Harrison, and Lucas Jack Gipson; step great-grandchild Zoey Chelle Linscomb; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Harrison of Haleyville, Alabama; his stepmother, Nelda Harrison of Hamilton, Alabama; his stepfather, Fred Smith of Beaumont, Texas; his mother, Arlene Smith of Beaumont, Texas; his brother, Tommy Harrison of Orangefield, Texas; his mother in-law, Opal Patterson of Orangefield, Texas.; and nephew, Clayton Harrison of Bridge City, Texas.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1819 North 16th Street, Orange, Texas. Cremation was entrusted to Dorman – Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
