Orange County ESD 1 firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the area of the intersection of Woodland and Lynn Street in Vidor. The department said units arrived on scene to find a single-story, single-family residence with heavy fire conditions coming from the front of the structure near the garage. The fire had quickly extended to the back of the structure upon our arrival.
All occupants and animals were evacuated. However one bystander sustained minor smoke inhalation while attempting to alert individuals inside the residence prior to firefighters’ arrival. That individual was transported to the hospital non-emergency by Acadian Ambulance Service.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. ESD1 was assisted by ESD4, the Sheriff’s Department and the Vidor Police Dept.
