Longtime Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove has announced she is retiring in August.
Hargrove is an Orange native who has spent her adult life as an educator, all within the district. She spent 12 years as a teacher, 14 years as a principal, and has been LC-M superintendent for 18 years.
In an email to employees of the district, she wrote “I have been blessed by the wonderful faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, and community who have chosen to stand together as a team committed to equity and excellence for all.”
She has led the district through bond elections and the resulting construction and renovations. Then during the past six months, she has overseen the re-construction of damage caused by Tropical Storm Harvey to many of those buildings. Some of those new buildings had never been used. In addition, her own home flooded.
