Heaven Cox, the 15 year old from Mauriceville that was the subject of a national search when she was reported missing November 26, 2017, passed away this weekend according to her mother Tammy.
Cox was reported as a runaway, leaving a note that she may be in California with a man she had met online. The Orange County Sheriff’s Dept. put her on the nationwide search list. Five days later she was found by investigators at a home in Vinton, where she had been since she ran away. She was reunited with her family.
In a Facebook post, Tammy Day said, “Our sweet Heaven left us to be with Jesus this afternoon around 4:00. Some bright lights are not meant for this dark and cruel world…” She did not say what caused her death.
