The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the Central Heights Blue Devils 4-3 in game 1 of the bi-district playoff series.
Abigail Curphey threw a strong 5 innings giving up 1 earned run on 6 hits with 7 strikeouts. Charlee Sanches finished out the final two innings, picking up the win with 1 strikeout.
Curphey and Sanches both had two hits. Alysen Vincent, Aubree Beck, and Paris Becker all added singles. Sanches (above) had the 2 go ahead RBIs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Beck, Sanches, Paris Becker, and Hallee Becker all had runs scored.
The Lady Bobcats improve to 25-8-1 on the season and look to close out the series tomorrow at noon in Jasper.

The LCM Lady Bears brought the big bats to Cleveland and came home with an 11-1 six inning win over Livingston. Every Lady Bear in the lineup had at least one hit as they finished with 16. Jacelyn Cook was 3-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored and Tessa Erickson hit a two run bomb to run rule the game. Catcher Lexi Moss was 3-3 with 2RBI’s as Erickson got the win, giving up one run on three hits, with 6K’s and no walks.
The Bears play Gm. 2 on Saturday at 3pm in Cleveland. The winner of the series plays either Gilmer or Rusk.

Vidor’s season came to an end with a 12-2 loss to Liberty. The Lady Pirates were held to two hits ( Natalie Morrison and Avery Harrington). The Lady Pirates end the season 21-13-1.

Deweyville advanced to the second round with a 9-1 win over Woden. Emily Meyers hit a three run homer to propel the offense while Baylee Smith struck out 11 and was 2-4 with 3RBI’s. They will the winner between Groveton and Joaquin.

Bridge City won their series against Huffman on Thursday. They will play Lufkin Hudson in a one game playoff in the second round.
