Orangefield’s Ryan Deutsch is met at home plate by teammates after hitting one out against Newton on Friday. Brett Fregia would also homer as the Bobcats blanked Newton 12-0. Freshmen Logan Gipson and Gunner Jones combined to throw a shutout. Blake Bradley also went 2-2 in the game.
The Bobcats then lost to Tarkington 4-3 although they outhit them 7-6. Mason Gonzalez took the loss on the hill. He allowed five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out six. Jones and Kadeon Evans had two hits each for OF (2-1).
Also at the OF Tournament – Colmesneil beat Big Sandy 2-1; Tarkington over Colmesneil 8-1.

At the LCM Tournament
LCM beat New Waverly twice, 12-10 and 10-2. Michael Lee, Truman Franklin, Chris Bilbo and freshman Anthony Bandiero hit HR’s for the Bears.

At the Jasper Tournament
WOS beat Kirbyville 7-5. (WP) Jose Alvarez 5 IP, 8H, 5R, 5ER, 0BB 1HBP. Kaleb Ramsey was 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBi. Justin Veitch was 2-4 with a double. Blake Robinson hit a 3 run HR.
Vidor beat WOS 9-2. (LP) Chad Dallas 1.1 IP, 3H, 7R, 4ER, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 4K.

Bridge City lost to West Brook 5-3. Kolin Powell got the complete game win, holding BC to three hits while striking out 8.

SOFTBALL
At the Sweeny Tournament, LCM won all three games, beating Boling 6-2; Rockport 4-2; and West Columbia 10-2.

At the Crosby Tournament
BC 3 Livingston 2 – WP-Kassidy Wilbur, with 6 strikeouts. Ashley Gerrald was 2-3 at the plate. Harrison, Callahan, and Denison contributed to the runs scored.
BC beat Huffman 4-2 as Wilbur was the WP and went 3-3 with a double and an RBI. Caitlin Dennison was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.
