Most people do a cookout for July 4th. Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor is going a little bigger than that.
This July 4th, Maplecrest is opening their doors to all of Southeast Texas for Free Indeed, a live dramatic production telling the story behind America’s founding. And we’re not talking about the version you half-remember from eighth grade history. This goes deeper. The faith, the pastors, the men who stood up when standing up cost everything.
They’ve got a full cast of local performers and the Southeast Texas Community Band involved, so this is a real production. Patrick Henry, the Boston Tea Party, the Lexington Green, the Declaration— all of it, live on stage.
It’s free. It’s indoors. And Maplecrest wants the whole community there. Not just their congregation. Everyone!
