Freddie Joseph Yust, Sr., 86, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Harbor Hospice Beaumont, in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Dorman Funeral Home; Brother Kevin Inman will be officiating. Freddie will be laid to rest next to his wife, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00AM- 2:00PM, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Dorman Funeral Home.
Freddie was born on Monday, January 19, 1931, to parents Goldie (Wheeler) and John Yust, in Seneca, Missouri, where he remained until he moved to Orange, Texas, in 1961. He was a Christian man of the Catholic faith, who deeply loved his Lord and Savior. Freddie worked for 30 years at the Pinehurst Fire Department, in Pinehurst, Texas, and was the Fire Chief of the department for 26 years. He also worked and retired as a millwright for Local Union 2484, in Orange, Texas. Freddie was a hardworking man who always worked with the goal of providing for his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his Chihuahua, and miniature pinscher.
Preceding Freddie in death is his wife, Dorothy M. (Tucker) Yust; parents, Goldie and John Yust; sons, James Clark and Timmy Yust; sister, Helen Puett; and brother, Clifford Yust.
Those who will cherish his memory most are his daughters, Emily Yust Thomas and her husband, Mike, and Dorothy Yust Colburn and her husband, Oscar; sons, Kurt Yust and his wife, Nancy, Danny Yust and his wife, Nadine, David Yust, Freddie Yust, Jr. and his wife, Loucinda, Damon Yust and his wife, Tammy, and Chad Yust; brother, Henry Yust; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, with two arriving in June; and numerous members of extended family, and friends.
Honoring Freddie as Pallbearers are Freddie Yust, Jr., Chad Yust, Damon Yust, Michael Thomas, Jr., James Allen Thomas, and BJ Lawrence; Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Thomas, Sr., Oscar Colburn, Kenny Peveto, and Payton Powell.
