Just before 7am Monday morning, firefighters from Little Cypress were called to a house fire at 4175 Little Cypress Dr. which is directly behind the fire station.
Heavy smoke was coming from over the garage and behind the home when they arrived. Mutual aid was called in from Orange, West Orange, Vidor and Deweyville along with Acadian. The rest of the home suffered serious smoke and water damage.
Two people in the home and several pets were standing outside when firefighters arrived. The owner said he believed the fire started in a loft above the garage. Firefighters are still investigating.
A Tesla electric vehicle was removed from the garage because of the problems they cause if they catch fire.
The fire fighting stopped just after 9am.
