Curtis F. Jeanis, a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 22,2026, in Orange, Texas, at the age of 94. Born on October 28, 1931, in Crowley, Louisiana, Curtis lived a life marked by dedication, service, and warmth to his family, friends and the Community.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Officiating will be Reverend Antony Paulose of St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation time will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with a Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Curtis served during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a strong sense of duty to his community. After returning home, he built a fulfilling career, retiring from Firestone and serving as City Manager for the cities of Pinehurst and Vidor, where he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him.

Curtis was deeply involved in his church, St. Mary Catholic Church, contributed to its mission and volunteered extensively. His dedication also extended to the Knights of Columbus, where he was a valued and active member. He also volunteered with Orange Christian Services, showcasing his unwavering commitment to helping others in need.

Outside of his professional pursuits and community service, Curtis enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was passionate about aviation and held a private pilot’s license. He enjoyed sharing his passion for flying with his sons. His love for the water was evident in his interests in boating and scuba diving, activities that allowed him to explore the beauty of nature and make memories with family and friends.

Curtis is survived by his current wife, Jane Bonnin Jeanis, and his loving sons, Louis Paul Jeanis II and his wife, Carolyn, Joseph Ben Jeanis, Curtis F. Jeanis Jr. and his wife, Carri, and David Allen Jeanis and his wife, Janie. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Gregory, Lucas, Justin, Benjamin, Brittany, Blake, and Sean Jeanis and his seven great-grandchildren. Curtis is also survived by his sister, Janet Talley.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years, Genevieve Mazzola Jeanis; his parents, Louis Paul and Lena Jeanis; his brother, Rayford Jeanis; his sister, Florence Armbruster; and his daughter-in-law, Yvonne Jeanis.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Gregory, Lucas, Justin, Benjamin, Blake, and Sean Jeanis.

Curtis F. Jeanis leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and commitment to family and community that will long be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire those who strive to make their world a better place.
