The community is invited to First Presbyterian Church of Orange on May 17, 2026, 10:00 a.m., when the congregation will celebrate the dedication and faithfulness of both the Parish Minister and the Director of Music Ministries. Pastor Bobby Daniel will celebrate his fifth anniversary with FPCO and Darren Hoyland is celebrating his twentieth year with the church.
In Darren’s 20 years as Director of Music Ministries, he has worked with people of all ages; in the Praise Team, the traditional choir and Presbyterian Day School students. Many of the folks who have sung or played in one of Darren’s groups in years past will be participating in the service, along with the current praise team on May 17, including some of those no longer living in the orange area.

Though Hoyland can be seen most frequently during worship services, he is creative, has a generous spirit and is always looking for opportunities to expand his service. He has been instrumental in beginning and maintaining the Blessing Box ministry at FPCO and putting together travel bags full of food that members can carry in their cars for distribution when encountering someone who may be hungry. When Darren sees a need, he quietly goes about making sure that need is met.
The congregation has grown over the past five years under Bobby Daniel’s leadership. Comments from members on his preaching include: “Bobby’s messages are biblical, well thought out, organized and inspiring. Sermon topics are timely, creative and very relevant to the life of the congregation.” He also excels in teaching, and his Advent and Lenten Bible studies are very well-received. He also leads chapel with the students at Presbyterian Day School.
Bobby is involved in Golden Triangle Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), the Orange Kiwanis Club and with the Golden Triangle Presbyterian Cluster, and the Presbytery of the New Covenant.
The congregation is thankful to have two such men who are dedicated to God and the congregation with whom they serve.
