The Stark Museum of Art invites families to enjoy a day of creativity, discovery and togetherness at Family Day on Saturday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, all-ages event offers hands-on art activities and opportunities to experience the Museum in fun and meaningful ways.
To ensure a welcoming experience for all visitors, the day will begin with a Sensory Hour from 10 to 11 a.m., designed to provide a calmer, more comfortable environment for children and families who benefit from reduced stimulation.
“Family Day is all about learning, playing and creating together,” said a Jennifer Dickinson, executive director of the Stark Museum. “At Family Day, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to explore the Museum and enjoy creative, kid-friendly art activities. This is a great day to discover new ways to look at and make art as a family.”
Also on view in the Community Art Gallery is “ART: It’s Elementary,” an exhibition featuring original works by local kindergarten through third grade students from Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. A Student Recognition Ceremony honoring the young artists will take place at 1 p.m. in the Museum lobby.
Admission to the Stark Museum of Art is free of charge. The Museum is located at 712 Green Avenue in downtown Orange, Texas, and is open Wednesday through Saturday from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit starkmuseum.org or call 409-886-2787.
