Saturday the Bridge City and Orangefield baseball teams advanced to the third round or the Region Semifinals.
BC defeated Hardin-Jefferson in Game 3 Saturday afternoon at PNG 11-3. The Cards scored in every inning but the last and Owen Tucker pitched his best game of the year according to Head Coach Chad Landry. “He did. He competed real well for us. I can’t say enough about the job OT did.”
Landry was concerned how his team would react after a heartbreaking loss in Game 2. “Our guys came out with a great attitude after the disappointing loss. It was a great day at the yard. We had bunts for hits, we had several sacs, we had some hit and runs work out for us. I’m real proud of how we competed today.”
Lead off hitter Hunter Ford was 3-5 with a run scored, while Carson Sauceda, CJ Riojas, and Hutch Bearden brought in two runs each.
The Cards will take on La Grange, who needed three games to eliminate Burnet. TBA
