Texas State University Sophomore and former LCM Bear Jack Burke had a strong top-3 finish at the Sam Houston State Bearkat Winter Shootout this past week. Burke finished with a 3-over par 146 for the two-day tournament which put him in a three-way tie for first. In the playoff, J. Holland Humphries (SMU) took 1st, Josh German (Sam Houston) took 2nd, and Burke (TXST) took 3rd. Burke had a nice fall as he competed in three of four tournaments for the Bobcats. He shot a four-under 212 as an individual at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational in Tampa, FL for lowest round of 54, tied for seventh with one-under par 215 to help the Bobcats win the Tempest Collegiate, and wrapped up the fall with a nice finish at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational. Texas State will tee it up in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Alabama on February 13-14.
