On Thursday, February 28, 2019, Bridge City ISD officials were alerted to a threat made by a student toward another student of Bridge City Middle School.
In a statement the district say, “We sincerely appreciate the quick notification by parents and hope to continue this type of quick reaction and partnership with our community. Due to this timely notification, at no time, was there any danger to students or staff. The district is following the safety protocol and the Student Code of Conduct regarding this matter.
Parents, students, staff and members of the community are valuable partners with the district in keeping students safe, and they are encouraged to report any threats or concerns about student safety to a district official. We do not take threats of this nature lightly. Please know the district will continue to follow all safety measures to keep our students safe. Due to local, state, and federal privacy laws and to preserve the integrity of the investigation by other authorities, we are unable to disclose further information regarding this matter at this time.”
