A Bridge City woman is on trial in Jefferson County this week. Carolyn Whittaker, 63, has been charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault and Injury to a Disabled Individual.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on September 17, 2024 Port Arthur Police responded to 4207 Lansing Ave. after Whittaker was accused of assaulting a child with cerebral palsy.
Penny Hebert stated she had a surveillance camera in her granddaughters room as Whittaker, a home health nurse, was changing her diaper. She was watching the live feed and observed Whittaker aggressively roll the victim to her right side, then hit her on the back of the head two times then rolled her back over aggressively. Hebert immediately entered the room and confronted Whittaker about her actions and called the police.
Hebert later reviewed the video prior to her initially watching and found that Whittaker also assaulted her by hitting her genital area.
The case is being held in the 252nd District Court, Judge Raquel West presiding.
