
The filing deadline for the March 3 Primary has passed and there will be contested races in four of the twelve elected positions on the Orange County ballot.
Precinct 2 Commissioner Chris Sowell is being challenged by Colleen Owens. Sowell is in his first term as Commissioner.
Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton has two challengers. They are Jesse Thibodeaux and Jeremiah Braneff. Simonton took office in 2014.
Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4, Rodney Price, is being challenged by Walter Low. Price took office in 2007.
And Patrick Rainey is challenging Republican Party Chairman Cheryl Warren who is completing her first term.
There has also been a lot of interest in precinct chairs and when those are finalized KOGT.com will post the names of the contested races.
