Summer Reading with The W.H. Stark House, Miriam presents Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Around the same time Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was being published, a young girl in Pennsylvania was introduced to her father’s love of reading and books. Miriam Lutcher Stark would carry that inherited love for the rest of her life. She would become one of the preeminent female book collectors of the early 20th century and start a reading and declamation contest that remains active to this day. Now The W.H. Stark House, the home her husband built for her, is proud to introduce a summer reading program for the whole family.
Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has been a staple of English literature for over 150 years. An incredibly rich and dynamic story, this book is not just for kids. Join The W.H.
