The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report Thursday evening of multiple vehicles involved in two crashes on Interstate 10 in Orange County. Sergeant Stephanie Davis with the DPS indicated the crashes occurred about 6:00 PM in the westbound traffic lanes of the interstate on the Neches River Bridge. The first crash involved more than five cars when a 2001 Ford pickup driven by Jerimy Speck, age 19, of Oklahoma rear-ended a vehicle starting a chain reaction of collisions. The second crash followed a similar pattern when a 2018 Dodge pickup driven by Jamichael Simon, age 24, of Beaumont struck several vehicles that were stopped because of the initial crash. Troopers initially reported there were injuries in the crash, but all the occupants of the vehicles refused medical treatment.
