On Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 2:03 am, Beaumont Police responded to the Salt Water Barrier in the 6700 block of Bigner in reference to a large disturbance.
While officers were responding, dispatch advised that several vehicles were leaving the area at a high rate of speed. One of the vehicles failed to negotiate a curve and struck a parked flatbed trailer. The front passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to a Houston-area hospital in critical condition.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old, Vidor resident, Alyssa Messina. The investigation is on-going.
