
Thomas “Tommy” Houston Anderson IV, 50, of Vidor, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Tommy grew up in Mauriceville for the first part of his life before becoming a longtime resident of Vidor. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 16 years. Tommy enjoyed many of the simple things in life, including mudding, shooting guns, cooking, fabricating and building anything he could, fishing, and spending time watching television, especially car shows, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS. He especially loved playing with his grandson, Ryatt.
Tommy enjoyed mentoring the younger generation and was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with others. He took pride in his ability to build and create things and cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Shaelyn Anderson of Vidor, Texas; children, Lane Anderson and wife Laikyn of Vidor, Texas, and Shelbie Anderson of Vidor, Texas; siblings, Joy Courtier and husband Jason of Little Cypress, Texas, and David Anderson and wife Heather of Weatherford, Texas; uncle, Gene Jannise and wife Heather of Batson, Texas; aunts, Sissy Smith of Mauriceville, Texas, Tina Broussard and husband Randy of Point Blank, Texas, and Patricia Lloyd and husband James of Mauriceville, Texas; grandson, Ryatt Anderson; brother in law Nathan Sanford and wife Britney of Orangefield, TX, and numerous loved bonus children, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Donna Anderson; grandparents, Eva and Chester Guillory and Dalbert Jannise; brother, Scott Anderson; and cousins, David Soto and Marcus McIntire.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Memorial Funeral Home to help with the cost of services during this sudden and unexpected passing.
Tommy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
