
Roy Lee Woodard was born September 9, 1940, and passed away August 12, 2026, at the age of 85.
Roy was a strong, courageous, and gracious man who lived his life with honesty, kindness, and selflessness. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, dedicating himself to serving his country and others.
Roy will be remembered for his generous heart, his strength of character, and the way he always put others before himself. He found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time outdoors golfing and fishing.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and kindness that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Roy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Lynn Woodard, and Toby Lee Woodard and wife Lori; grandchildren, Travis Woodard and wife Katrina, Ashley Woodard and husband Dakota Shaffer, Dara Woodard, Ryla Hurley and husband Caide, and Tristia Woodard; 4 great grandchildren; and brothers, J.E. Woodard, Huebert Woodard and wife Linda, and Johnny Woodard and wife Jewel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Woodard; parents, Edwin and Ruby Woodard; brothers, R.L. Woodard and Darrell Woodard.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Dr. Johnny Woodard will be officiating.
