The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Monica S. Lopez, 58, of Orange, will be Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at 11am at the Mount Olive Baptist Church under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 until 11am.
Monica Shay was born in Orange, Texas on Tuesday, November 7th, 1967, to Mary Robertson and Givens Harris. She died Thursday, July 16th, 2026 , in Orange, at home, surrounded by her family.
Raised and educated in Orange, she was a 1986 graduate of West-Orange Stark High School.
While in good health, she worked as a cashier at Golden Corral Restaurant.
“Twiggy”, as most knew her, united in Holy Matrimony with Joseph Lopez, Jr.
The Mount Olive Baptist Church was her church home and place of worship.
Having a quiet and loving nature, she loved being around family, and family loved to share, spend time, and lovingly care for her.
Forever cherishing her memory are one daughter, Markayla Lopez of Beaumont, Texas, two brothers, Bryan Robertson ( Lori) of Beaumont and Willie “Mike” Robertson (Bernadine) of Orange, one sister, Sylvia Gardner Sezer (Alfred) of Orange, 2 grandsons, Messiah and Jrue and 1 granddaughter, Dynver.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
