On Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 11:10 PM, officers with the Orange Police Department were dispatched to the 2400 block of 8th Street in reference to reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently being listed in critical condition.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation and subsequent retaliation. Investigators identified several individuals involved in the incident, who were later taken into custody.
- Tylan Lightfoot 21, of Louisiana was arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – Deadly Conduct, a second-degree felony.
- Larry Phillips 17, of Orange was arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct, a third-degree felony.
- A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – Deadly Conduct, a second-degree felony. The juvenile’s identity will not be released due to age.
The identity of the injured male is being withheld at this time pending full notification of family members.
