On February 9, 2026, Vidor Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment
violation. During the course of the stop, a Vidor Police K9 was deployed to conduct an open-air
sniff. After the K9 gave a positive alert, officers conducted a search of the vehicle, resulting in the
seizure of over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm.
Chief Rodney Johnson said, “This arrest demonstrates our officers’ dedication to keeping Vidor safe. The
removal of over 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine prevents immeasurable harm to our
citizens. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who bring drugs and violence into our
community. Our K9 unit remains a vital tool in the fight against illegal drugs.”
The suspect is currently in custody and facing multiple felony charges.
