The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a commercial motor vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 10, near the 874-mile marker west of Orange, that occurred today, October 13, 2024.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 5:33 a.m., a 2025 International LT62E truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling east. It is reported that for an unknown reason, the driver left the road to the right, over-corrected, struck a guardrail, and then overturned the truck and trailer. The truck then became engulfed in flames and bystanders were able to get the driver and passenger out of the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Guillermo Castaneda-Gomez of El Paso, and one passenger, identified as 44-year-old Andres Sanchez of El Paso were transported to Christus-Orange hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
