On November 29, 2023, around 1:51 am., Officers responded to 1745 Texas Ave. (Mobil Express Mart #1) in reference to an Aggravated Robbery where the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. When Officers arrived, they obtained a description of the suspect and learned he had fled on foot. Officers were able to locate the area where the suspect had fled.
On November 30, 2023, through investigative leads, Detectives went to an apartment at 1571 Texas Ave., Bridge City, Texas where they located the suspect inside a bedroom. Evidence from the robbery was also located inside the apartment. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Wilmer Noe Cuevas Castro. Castro was taken into custody for outstanding traffic warrants. Detectives later obtained an arrest warrant on Castro for Aggravated Robbery. The arrest warrant was signed by Justice of the Peace Pct. #1 Hershel Stagner Jr.
Wilmer Castro is currently being held in the Orange County Jail.
