Young Audiences of Southeast Texas and the Vidor Business Network are joining forces to present Really Big Show, free to the public, on Tuesday evening, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Vidor High School auditorium. Three Young Audiences artists will be on hand with their special brands of fun. Opening the show is Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo of San Francisco California and his Asia Fantasia program. Robert travels to Asian countries, learning the stories of their people, and relays them to students across the US. He was named 1999 National Young Audiences Artist of the Year, and it’s easy to see why. With his incredibly expressive face and body, he brings stories to life and engages audience members of all ages.
Next up will be Storybook Theater from the Schertz-Cibolo, Texas area. The ladies travel to present stories and fairy tales, making books come to life with amazing costuming, sets, and voices. Their program, which is audience-interactive as are all Young Audiences’ offerings, will take the crowd on a fun journey with “The New Little Red Riding Hood.” They will be followed by Grammy-award winner Mr. Blue Shoes, Michael Dyson of Dallas, Texas. Michael leaps off the stage to let students play his blues guitar, leads them in dancing “The Wiggle Bounce,” and has the entire audience on their feet, rocking to the music.
Students who won Facebook contests will introduce the artists, and the Vidor High School Pirate Players will be around to hand out some fabulous door prizes. Vidor Business Network members will be on hand as well. It’s going to be a great evening, and it’s free and open to the public. Join us!
