An 18-year-old from Nederland was injured Sunday afternoon after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on MacArthur Drive. Orange police report the accident was caused by a red Mustang changing lane in front of two motorcyclists. The Mustang never stopped.
Roosevelt Richardson was taken by Acadian Ambulance Service to Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Orange police report Richardson was driving a Honda motorcycle and his friend was driving a Suzuki motorcycle in the 1800 block of MacArthur Drive about 4:15 p.m. The Mustang changed lanes in front of them and the motorcycles moved to the middle lane to avoid the car. Then the Mustang moved into the middle lane. The movement caused the motorcycles to move again and Richardson’s cycle clipped the right side of the other cycle, making him lose control.
A woman had to get stitches at the Baptist Hospital Orange Emergency Room Sunday night after she was hit in the head with a stick during an argument. Orange police report the assault was reported a few minutes before 8 p.m. at a house in the 3600 block of Bowling Lane.
Officer T.P. Pruitt reported a woman had been letting another woman use her car for four months. The woman went to the house where the car was at the time. The two women got into an argument and a 53-year-old woman who had been using the car hit the other woman in the head. Officer Pruitt reported she was taken by private vehicle to the hospital and had 11 stitches on her forehead.
The 53-year-old woman accused of hitting the woman could face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police went to Navy Park about 4:30 Sunday morning after reports of a gun being fired. Officer L.T. Holland said he found a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the in the 200 block of Farragut Street. The car had bullet holes in the rear window and passenger door. The car was listed as possible stolen from Houston and it was towed to storage.
